Charles Earl's Obituary
Mr. Charles Earl Peeples, Sr., 62, of Rose Lane near Estill, SC, died Wednesday morning, May 29, 2019 after a brief illness.
Charles was born in Hampton County March 12, 1957, a son of the late Henry O. (Ouzzie) Peeples, Sr. and Allene DeLoach Peeples. He served for the past 19 years with the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He had also served in the South Carolina National Guard from 1982 – 1990 and as a DNR officer in the 90’s. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of the Eagle Riders Motorcycle Club in Hampton and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Charles attended Pine Level Baptist Church. He loved his job and the people he worked with every day, especially the citizens of Hampton County and surrounding area, but most of all, he deeply loved his family.
Surviving are his daughters: Wendy Peeples McCall and husband Chris of Varnville and Emily Ann All of Barnwell; a son: Charles Earl Peeples, Jr. and wife Jessica of Varnville; brothers: Henry O. Peeples, Jr., Wilson D. Peeples and wife Susanne and Dan R. Peeples and wife Dicie, all of Varnville; sisters: Mary Ann P. Heape and husband Gilbert of Varnville, Shirley Chesser of Ohio and Wanda P. Hargrove and husband Harold of Ruffin; 5 grandchildren: Ray Soto, Morgan Moore, Ragan Moore, C.J. McCall, Madalynne Peeples, all of Varnville, and Jonathan Brazil, whom he loved as a grandchild. There are also many nieces and nephews that he dearly loved. Mr. Peeples was predeceased by his parents and two nephews, Chad Jarrell and Travis Koon.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM Sunday at Open Arms Fellowship with burial in the Live Oak Cemetery located at 300 Live Oak Cemetery Road in Varnville with Military Honors provided by the South Carolina Highway Patrol Honor Unit, conducted by Rev. Kermit Morris and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 PM prior to the services at the Church.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Live Oak Cemetery c/o Steve DeLoach, 330 Meat Packing Road, Varnville, SC 29944.
