Woody Altman

BRUNSON :     Mr. Woodrow "Woody" Altman Jr., of Prince William Road near Brunson, died Monday evening, February 27, 2023 in the Beaufort Memorial Hospital.  He was 62.

Mr. Altman was born July 23, 1960 in Hampton County, a son of the late Woodrow Altman Sr. and Lucy Rivers Altman.  He had worked with Hampton County E.M.S. as an Emergency Medical Technician, and had retired from Ferguson Forest Products as a truck driver.  He had served in the United States Army, was a member of the Crocketville Masonic Lodge, and was a member of the Sandy Run Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sister, Sharon Altman-Wilson of Brunson, by his aunts, Libby Sanford (Billy) of Hampton, and Bobbie Huber of California, by his nephews David and Jason Wilson, and by his great-nephews Patrick and Matthew Wilson.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Altman was predeceased by a sister, Sandra Altman-Haney.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, March 4, 2023 at 11:00 in the chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.  Burial, with Masonic Rites, will follow at the Sandy Run Cemetery.  The family will receive friends during a time of visitation at the funeral home Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00.
