W.M. "Jack" Wellmon

Mr. W. M. "Jack" Wellmon of Anderson Lane near Brunson, died Sunday morning in the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

Mr. Wellmon was born in Cleveland County, North Carolina, November 18, 1933.  He was the son of Wesley Monroe Wellmon and Zelia Brooks Wellmon.  He had served as the Chief X-ray Technician at Hampton Regional Medical Center for 30 years and was a U.S. Army Veteran.  He was a member of the Normans Grove Baptist Church in Lawndale, North Carolina, and enjoyed playing pool and was a member of the Hot Shots Pool Club in Hampton.

Surviving are:  Daughters:  Cindy Bloodworth and husband Johnny of Orangeburg and Karen Anderson and husband Tim of Brunson; Son:  Richard White of New Jersey;  and a brother:  Charles Wellmon and wife Jean of Mt. Pleasant.  There are 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.  Jack was predeceased by a brother, Arnold Wellmon.

Graveside services will be 2 P.M. Saturday in the Normans Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 206 Carpenters Grove Church Road in Lawndale, North Carolina, directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton.

Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Chapel in Hampton located at 300 Mulberry Street West.

The family will be at the home of Robert and Kimberly Clark located at 17279 Sniders Highway near Islandton.
