Willie James Crosby

Mr. Willie James Crosby of Hopewell Road near Hampton died Saturday morning at his residence.

Mr. Crosby was born in Hampton County, May 25, 1941, a son of the late James Hansford Crosby and Julia Catherine Stanley Crosby.  He was a self-employed painter and had attended the Hampton First Christian Church.  He also had served in the National Guard.

Surviving are:  His wife Helen Smith Crosby of Hampton;  Sons:  Willie James Crosby, Jr. of Varnville and Randy William Crosby of Grays;  Daughters:  Kimberly Brunson and husband J.W. of Cummings, Annette Mills of Varnville, Brenda Ginn and husband Anthony of Fairfax, and Kathy Smith and husband Keith of Varnville;  Sister:  Roselee Fennell and husband Charles of Hampton; and a Brother:  Henry Crosby of Ehrhardt.  There are 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.  Mr. Crosby was predeceased by:  a sister:  Margie Hudson; and brothers:  Archie and Jimmy Crosby.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Tuesday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home with burial in the Hampton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
