Mr. Willie McGee Bowers of Pine Street in Varnville, died Wednesday morning in the Hampton Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Bowers was born July 4, 1930 in Furman, a son of Sidney McGee Bowers and Lillian Jarrell Bowers. He was a Master Carpenter, and was a member of the Furman Baptist Church. He enjoyed Golf, Fishing and was a member of the Bass Masters Association. He was the owner and operator of the local Driving Range near Lake Warren.
Surviving are: His wife: Lois Burgener Bowers of Varnville; Sons: Louis Bowers of Hampton, Kevin Bowers and wife Cindy of Hampton; Daughter: Amy Ginn and husband Steve of Nixville; and Three Sisters: Ruthie Walker of Barnwell, Barbara Ann Morphy of Johnston, and Shirley Way of Furman; 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Mr. Bowers was predeceased by his parents; two brothers: Rudolph and Carl Bowers; and three sisters: Jeanette Murdaugh, Libby Owens, and Carolyn Strickland.
Funeral services will be 4 P.M. Saturday, May 7, 2022 in the chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, conducted by Elder Robert Dobson, with burial in the Black Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, May 6, 2022 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
The family asks that anyone wishing to make a Memorial please make it out to Black Creek Cemetery, Robert N. Dobson 2092 Bamberg Hwy, Hampton, SC 29924.
