Willie Albert Bennett, Sr.

Mr. Willie A. Bennett, Sr., 53, of Varnville passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Bennett was born June 20, 1966 in Hampton, son of the Mary Drawdy Bennett and the late Henry Michael Bennett, Sr.  He loved his family and enjoyed fishing and collecting cans.  He will be missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his wife Cathy Bennett of Varnville; his mother:  Mary Bennett of Varnville; children:  David Bennett (Haley) of Hampton, Linsey C. Murdaugh of Varnville, Willie Bennett, Jr. of Walterboro, Heather Bennett of Walterboro, Henry Bennett of Walterboro, Dakota Murdaugh (April) of Hampton; half-brother:  Randy Dandridge of Hampton; special nephew:  Andrew Dallas Thompson of Walterboro;  a special uncle who was always there for him:  Larry "Cool" Drawdy; and 11 grandchildren whom he dearly loved.   There are a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.    He was preceded in death by his father Henry Michael Bennett, Sr.; step-brother:  Henry Michael Bennett, Jr. and Marvin Dandridge, who raised him as his own.

Funeral services will be 4 PM Friday, January 24, 2020 in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Byron Crosby with burial in the Varnville Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1 PM prior to the services at the Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
