William Harold Mason

Mr. William Harold Mason, 83, of Pine Street in Varnville, died Friday, May 8, 2020 in Pruitt Health Care Facility in Estill.

Mr. Mason was born November 30, 1936 in Scotia, a son of the late Harold Lee Mason and Sallie Amanda Long Mason.  He was a retired painter and was a member of Varnville First Baptist Church where he was a member of the choir.  He had been active with the Hampton County Arts Council and had participated in several plays.  Mr. Mason served in the Air Force.

Surviving is his son:  Bill Mason and wife Jennifer of Point South; daughters:  Robin  Mason of Greer and Christie Hunter and husband Clint of Greenville; grandchildren:  Doug, Russell and Maggie McClinton, Joshua, Matt and Grace Hunter and Joshua Mason; and 2 great-grandchildren:  Shadai James-McClinton and Illyria McClinton.  Mr. Mason was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Anne Gerald Mason and two grandsons, Phillip and Mitchell Mason.

Graveside services will be 2 PM, Saturday, May 30, 2020, at Steep Bottom Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Dr. Tommy Kelly and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.  Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service.
