Mr. William Thomas "Bill" James Jr. of Port Wentworth, Georgia died early Thursday morning in Memorial Health Hospital in Savannah, after a brief illness.

Mr. James was born August 21, 1938 in Paducah, Kentucky a son of the late William T. James Sr. and Dorothy Estell LeVan James. He had served in the Air Force for over 20 years, and also had retired from Gulf Stream as a Security Guard. He was a member of the Baptist Faith, and enjoyed his retirement spending time with his family.

Surviving are: His wife: Cathleen Dawn Smith James of Port Wentworth; Sons: David James and wife Caroline of Statesboro, Georgia, Lloyd Preston James of Savannah, and Preston Lee James of Port Wentworth; Daughter: Alicia Salters and husband Tim of Hampton; and a Brother: Louie James and wife LaFern of  Bardstown, Kentucky; and Grandchildren: Kinsley, Sarah Kate, Will, Katelyn, and Jubilee; and many nieces and nephews

Mr. James was predeceased by his first wife: Sarah Louise James; son: Michael James; and sister: Dorothy Ann Workman.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Sunday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton, with burial in the Johnson-St. Paul Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday beginning at 1 P.M. at the Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
