Will Patrick

William Thomas Patrick, 68, of Rockville, MD, died on May 12, 2020, following an extended illness.  Born August 14, 1951, he was the son of the late William Capers Patrick of Frederick MD and Sara McCoy Ayer Patrick of Rockville, MD.  His grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J Ayer and Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Patrick were life-long residents of Furman, SC. Both of his parents grew up in Furman.  Will was born in Hampton, SC, and spent his childhood in Frederick and Rockville, MD.  He attended public schools and Montgomery College in Rockville.

After college, he lived for several years in El Paso, Texas before returning to Rockville.  He had a talent for renovation and remodeling, which included a hobby of refurbishing Volkswagen Beetles.  He worked in property management after returning to Rockville.

He is survived by his beloved brother Mark Edward Patrick of Rockville, MD; stepmother, Virginia H Patrick of Frederick, MD;  stepfather, Dutee Smith of St. Louis, MO; stepsister Theresa Bedoya of Baltimore, MD; stepbrother Martin Lynch of Nashville, TN; stepsisters Dahlem Smith, Andrea Smith, Susan Smith-Crawford, Constance Smith, Marian Smith-Peterson, Victoria Smith-Hohenbergh, and Louella Smith-Bey, of the St. Louis, MO area, and one first cousin, Lynnda Cannon Bassham, of Aiken SC.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 2:30 pm, in Estill at the Lawtonville Cemetery, where Will's mother and numerous other family members are buried.  Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home of Hampton is assisting the family.
