Wilbur Davis

Wilbur Tuten Davis, 75 of Maner Drive in Allendale, SC, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Allendale County Hospital in Fairfax, SC.

He was born March 23, 1945 in Hampton County to the late Gilbert Rawls Davis and Bessie Hickman Davis.

Surviving is his brother:  Daniel Davis of Allendale; sisters:  Elsie Padgett (Johnny) of Cayce, SC, Queenie Murdaugh (Franklin) of Hampton, SC and Dimples Zipperer (Jack) of Murfreesboro, TN; and a number of nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased in death by brothers Lester, Vernon, Marshall and James Davis, and sisters Lucille Clark, Elizabeth Davis and Susan Weatherford.

Wilbur was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.  He retired from the South Carolina National Guard with 20 years of service as a Staff SGT and completed medic training in Texas.  He also retired from Westinghouse and International Paper in Hampton.  Wilbur was known for his wit and humor.  He had a big heart for missions and for anyone in need.  He will be greatly missed by the family that he dearly loved.

A private service will be held at a later date.
