Mr. Warren Edward Corbin of Sandy Run Road near Brunson, died Thursday afternoon in University Hospital in Augusta.
Mr. Corbin was born in Hampton County on November 16, 1928, a son of the late William Edward Corbin and Minnie Mixson Corbin. He graduated from Hampton High School, attended Clemson College and came home to follow his calling of farming. Along with his son, he was a General Partner in C&C Farms of Brunson and made 71 crop years. He dearly loved his family and was a faithful member of Brunson Baptist Church. He was a former Trustee at Connie Maxwell Children's Home and served on The Board of Visitors at Charleston Southern University since 1989. Mr. Corbin was a Hampton Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioner for 48 years. He was an honorary member of the Clemson University Block and Bridle Club.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Sarah Harrison Corbin, Daughter: Claudia and husband Stephen Burdette; Son, Walt and wife Lynn Corbin; Grandchildren: Sarah and husband William Gable, Steven Meadows, Julianna Corbin, Madelyn Corbin, and one great grandchild Harrison Gable; four step grandsons: Grady and wife Hannah Burdette, Jerred Burdette, Timothy Burdette, and Benjamin Burdette; Brother: Harold Corbin and wife Ava; and two sisters, Iris Gary and Dorothy Bonnette. Mr. Corbin was predeceased by one sister: Irene Hurley.
A private burial will take place Sunday morning at 7 am at the Harrison Cemetery near Brunson, with a Funeral Service following at 8 am at the Brunson Baptist Church conducted by Rev. R. P. Hodge.
Visitation will be Saturday from 4 to 6 pm at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
