Walter Carl Chassereau, Jr.

Mr. Walter Carl Chassereau, Jr., 77, resident of Thomas Hamilton Road near Brunson, husband of the late Patricia Annette Jarrell Chassereau, died Friday, August 29, 2025, at his residence.

Born June 23, 1948, in Savannah, Georgia, Mr. Chassereau was the son of the late Rev. Walter Carl Chassereau, Sr. and Myrtle Maxine Thompson Chassereau. He proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard and retired from Westinghouse in Hampton after 42 years of dedicated service. Mr. Chassereau was an active collector of antiques who enjoyed finding and collecting coins, working with electronics, playing his guitar, and searching for various artifacts with his metal detector.

He attended Varnville First Baptist Church, where he thoroughly enjoyed Sunday school and worship services.

Surviving are his brothers, Bart Chassereau and his wife Sandra of Estill and Don Chassereau and his wife Susan of Varnville; his sisters, Laura Chassereau and Cindy Holyfield both of Hampton, as well as several nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Chassereau was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Annette Jarrell Chassereau, and a sister, Dorothy "Dot" Chassereau Williamson.

Private Services will be held at a later date.
