Mr. Waldo "Robbie" Robertson White, 77, resident of Orrell Street in Yemassee and husband of Anna Casiano White, passed peacefully Thursday morning, January 1, 2026, at his residence.
Born September 6, 1948, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Mr. White was the son of the late Charles Walker White, Jr. and the late Isabella Peebles Robertson White. He was a graduate of North Mecklenburg High School and went on to attend St. Andrews Presbyterian College, as well as the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he graduated.
Mr. White worked for nearly 45 years with Hampton School District 1 where he was a teacher at Fennell Elementary School. While he taught multiple subjects over the years, Mr. White specialized in computer technology/keyboarding and established the first computer lab in District 1. Not only was he an outstanding educator, Mr. White also excelled at writing grants, securing over a million dollars in grants to expand the computer lab.
Mr. White was a member of Ebenezer Methodist Church in Yemassee and sang in the choir. He founded Boy Scout Troop 670, where he served as its Scoutmaster for 30 years and earned the Wood Badge Training Award and Silver Beaver Award. Mr. White deeply loved his community, made connections with all his students, and left a lasting impression on anyone that came in contact with him.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Mrs. Anna Casiano White, of the home are his sons: Nathaniel White and his wife Olivia Zimmerman of Aiken, SC and Benjamin White of Los Angeles, CA; and his younger brothers: William White of Hendersonville, NC, Thomas Edward White of Albuquerque, NM, and James Douglas White of Columbia, SC.
In addition to his parents, Mr. White was predeceased by his older brother, Charles Walker White, III of Kannapolis, NC.
Memorial Services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, January 10, 2026, in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry St. W., Hampton, SC 29924.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 PM prior and last until the hour of the service in the chapel.
Honorary pallbearers will be Peggy Parker, Alex Shaw, James Watson, Hannah Priester, Alice Fennell, and Willie Coker.
The family requests that those who wish may send memorials to Fennell Elementary School, Scouting America, or Ebenezer Yemassee Methodist Church.
Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the White family during this time.
