Virginia Bowers Ginn

Virginia Bowers Ginn of Hilton Head, SC, formerly of Varnville, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018.  Born March 26, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Lillian Bowers Rogers and Shelly Winfield Bowers of Crocketville, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward (Ebbie) Robert Ginn, Jr., her sister, June Bowers, and her brother, Winfield Bowers.

Virginia graduated from Wade Hampton High School in Varnville and married her high school sweetheart, the late Ebbie Ginn. She was voted "most talented" in her senior year which foretold her success in future endeavors as a businesswoman, an expert in design and fashion fabrication, and also a talented artist. Virginia enjoyed travel, visiting with friends and family, dancing at every possible opportunity, but her passion was painting low country South Carolina scenes. Virginia resided in Hampton County for most of her life where she was a member of Varnville Christian Church. In later years she relocated to The Seabrook at Hilton Head, SC.

Virginia cherished and was exceedingly proud of her sons, Edward Robert Ginn, III (Michelle) and Barry Winfield Ginn, her grandchildren: Lawton Yon (Eric), Robert Ginn, Russell Ginn, Spencer Rigsby (Phillip) and Barry (Beau) Ginn, her five great-grandchildren.  She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Friday, December 14th, at Varnville Christian Church followed by burial in Varnville Cemetery conducted by Rev. Mike Freeman.
