Virgie Mae Stanley Altman

Mrs. Virgie Mae Stanley Altman of Sandy Run Road near Hampton died Thursday afternoon at her residence.

Mrs. Altman was born in Hampton, June 26, 1938, a daughter of the late Franklin and Sally Harriott Stanley.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Sandy Run Baptist Church.  She centered her life around taking care of her family.

Surviving are:  Sons:  Herman Altman and wife Melissa, Larry Altman, both of Brunson, and Wayne Altman and wife Renee of Hampton; Daughters:  Sheila Harrelson of Hampton and Linda Aytes and husband Roy of Summerville; Sisters:  Beularee Mosley of Hampton and Arnree Polk of Moncks Corner.  There are 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Altman was predeceased by:  her husband, William Martin Altman; and two brothers:  Ray and Sam Stanley.

Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Saturday in the Sandy Run Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Paul Reid and Rev. Ryan Ashcraft with burial in the Sandy Run Cemetery directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton.

Visitation will be Saturday beginning at 1 P.M. in the Sandy Run Baptist Church prior to services.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be sent to the Sandy Run Baptist Church or the Sandy Run Cemetery Committee, 2100 Sandy Run Road, Hampton, SC 29924.
