Mr. Vernon Lee Reynolds, 88, of Steep Bottom Road near Estill, died Monday night, July 15, 2019 in the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro.
Mr. Reynolds was born December 24, 1930 in Hope Mills, North Carolina, a son of the late Walter Lee Reynolds and Ila Jane Blackman Reynolds. He had served in the Air Force for 21 ½ years. After retirement he worked as a plastics technician for DuPont in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife: Gloria Jean Youmans Reynolds of Estill; sons: Gerry Lee Reynolds of Asheboro, North Carolina, John Walter Reynolds and wife Ann of Leland, North Carolina and Christopher Todd Reynolds of Hope Mills, North Carolina; daughters: Pamela Faye Jeffries of Hope Mills, North Carolina and Cynthia Lynn McDaris and husband Rick of Marshall, North Carolina; brothers: Edward Eugene Reynolds of Goose Creek, South Carolina and William Boyd Reynolds and wife Alice of Hope Mills, North Carolina. There are 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 AM Thursday in the Lawtonville Cemetery in Estill conducted by Rev. Brian Toney and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.
Friends may visit with family members immediately following the services at the cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force.
