Vera Ann Crosby Morris

Mrs. Vera Ann Crosby Morris of Fairfax, died Sunday, May 14, 2023, at her daughters residence in Islandton, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Morris was born Jan. 5, 1957 in Hopkins, South Carolina a daughter of the late William "Bill" Crosby Sr. and Katherine Stanley Crosby Stanley. She was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church, loved people, and never met a stranger. Mrs. Morris had worked in sales for Charlie Young at his Package Stores, and had been active with the booster Club in the Hampton Community.

Surviving are:  Her husband:  Jennings David Morris of Fairfax; Daughter:  Cindy Segars "Johnny Martin Jr." of Islandton; Brother:  Artie Howard of Brunson; Grandchildren:  Taylor Polite "Raheem" of Islandton, Brandon Lane "Kaitlin" of Orangeburg, Blake Lane "Desteny" of Hampton, Jamieson Segars and Addieson Martin both of Islandton; and many Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.

Mrs. Morris was predeceased by her second father, Wesley Stanley; and two brothers:  Robert H. Crosby and William "Wild Bill" Crosby.

Graveside funeral services will be 11 A. M. Friday, May 19, 2023, in the Hopewell Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Kevin Crosby.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 P. M. at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
