Mr. Theodore "Ted" Ernest Gill, 75, resident of Ashlyn Lane near Estill, SC, husband of Nancy Marie Gill, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025, in the Hampton Regional Medical Center.
Born September 24, 1950, in Toledo, Ohio, Mr. Gill was the son of the late George Gill and Marilyn Glenn Gill. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, was a veteran of the Vietnam War, and served in the South Carolina National Guard. Mr. Gill also worked many years as a police officer throughout Hampton County and later as a truck driver prior to his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, was a great small engine mechanic, and thoroughly enjoyed reading. Mr. Gill will be remembered for the deep love he had for his family, his church, and for always being a kind-hearted man.
Mr. Gill was a dedicated member of Nixville Church of God of Prophecy where he was active in many church activities, loved to pray at the altar, and was devoted to serving his Lord.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Mrs. Nancy Marie Hickman Gill, of the home, are his sons: Michael Gill (Trina) and Joseph "Joey" Gill; his daughters: Olivia Sullivan (Sean) and Diana Green (Steve); his 6 adored grandchildren; one special granddaughter, Brooke Bridges; his brother, Thomas Gill; his four sisters: Susan Wisda, Jennifer Beard, Colleen Spackey (Rick), and Cathy Schulte (Mark), and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Marvin Long (Missy), Patty Jackson (Albert), Judy Tindall (Michael), and Tom Watson. There are also many beloved nieces and nephews who survive.
In addition to his parents, George and Marilyn Gill, Mr. Gill was predeceased by one son, Andrew Gill; one brother, Kelly Gill; three brothers-in-law: Rex Beard, William Horace Hickman, Jr., and Johnnie Lee Padgett; three sisters-in-law: Cathy Elaine Long Watson, Delores Brunson, and Sue Sharp.
Funeral Services will be 2 PM Saturday, November 8, 2025, in the Nixville Church of God of Prophecy, conducted by Bishop Michael Frederickson and Mrs. Nancy Gill. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 6 PM – 8 PM Friday evening, November 7, 2025, at the Nixville Church of God of Prophecy located in the Nixville community.
Pallbearers will be Adam Malphrus, Travis Long, Brian Chassereau, Blake Tindall, Joshua Chassereau, Cole Jackson, Steven Galloway, Dyllon Grimm, and John Wesley Bowers.
The family requests that those who wish may send memorials to the Nixville Church of God of Prophecy, c/o Darlene Bowers, 276 Winnie Trail, Varnville, SC 29944.
The family also would like to send a special thank you to Cole Jackson, Mr. Gill's nephew, to Inez and Naomi with Right at Home of Bluffton and to the staff of the emergency room at Hampton Regional Medical Center all for their care of Mr. Gill throughout his illness.
