Susan Ellis Godley

HAMPTON DATELINE:  Mrs. Susan Ellis Godley, 70 of 1575 Bamberg Highway, Hampton, S.C. died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family Sunday night.

Susan was born on Feb. 15, 1952 in Hampton, a daughter of the late Rudolph S. Ellis and Anita DeWitt Ellis. She was an active member of West End Baptist Church in Hampton, and enjoyed Fishing and Cooking for her family. She was employed by the Hampton Regional Medical Center in Varnville for 30 years.

Surviving are her husband for 51 years, Johnson Godley of Hampton; Sisters: Mary Ann Mixson (Gary) of Grays, and Janet E. DeLoach (Horace) of Hampton: and several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Susan was predeceased by her parents and daughters, Anita and Jessica Godley.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Wednesday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, conducted by Dr. Rhyan Ashcraft, with burial in the Johnson-St. Paul Cemetery in Hampton.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 P.M. at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
