Susan Henrietta Freeman Terry

Mrs. Susan Henrietta Freeman Terry, 82, of Bamberg Highway in Hampton died Saturday morning in Roper Hospital in Charleston.

Mrs. Terry was born September 28, 1935 in Hampton County, a daughter of the late William Henry "Bill" Freeman and Addie Lee Terry Freeman Rushing.  She was a retired Secretary and had worked at North District Middle School, Hampton Town Hall, The Frock Shop in Hampton and Westinghouse, but her favorite job was spending time with her family and grandchildren.  She was a member of the St. Paul Primitive Baptist Church, enjoyed gardening, bird watching and attending her cousins lunches on Saturday.

Surviving are:  son:  Tony Terry and wife Marlene of Hampton:  daughter:  Starr Ginn and husband Milton of Gifford;  brothers:  Billy Freeman and wife Judy of Hampton and John Freeman and wife Cathy of Walterboro;  sister:  Bobbie Swofford of Hampton;  and grandchildren:  Brock and Chrissy Terry, Todd and Beth Terry, Heather and Nyle Elmquist, Melonee and Andy Mattie, Jessica and Joe Cooper and Justin Ginn.  There are 9 great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Terry was predeceased by her husband:  Melvin L. Terry;  son:  Derek William Terry;  and sisters:  Sara Ann DeLoach and Emma Terry Freeman.

Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Johnson-St. Paul Cemetery in Hampton conducted by Elder Robert Dobson, Elder Terrell Harvey and Elder Paul Tuten.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
