Mr. Steven Cyril "Steve" Shuman of Pleasant Hill Road near Furman, died Saturday in the Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Shuman was born May 16, 1949 in Ridgeland, a son of the late Cyril M. Shuman and Annie Marian DeLoach Shuman. He was the Mill Manager at Elliott Saw Milling near Estill and retired in 2019, was a Navy Veteran, and was a member of the Furman Baptist Church. Mr. Shuman also loved to Cook, and enjoyed Hunting and Fishing. He formerly held the Hampton County Record, and State Record for the Largest Deer that had been harvested.

Surviving are: His wife: Janet Cook Shuman of Furman; Sisters: Dianne Patterson and husband J.O. of Garnett, and Sally Boyd and husband Ed of Beaufort; Brother: John Shuman of Bluffton, and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Shuman was predeceased by his parents, and a daughter; Stacey Shuman.

Memorial services will be 2 P.M. Saturday, August 27th in the Furman Baptist Church directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.
