Steve Odom Sanders

Steve Odom Sanders, a cherished soul, left this world on April 10, 2025, at the age of 86, predeceased by his mother, Atha Odom, and father, Burley Paul Sanders. Living family include his wife, Mary "Winn", son, Sigo, daughter, Caitlyn, step-daughter, Mary Helen Hendrix, step-son, Chris Gardner, as well as 7 beautiful grandchildren and two step grandchildren, Ashley Spade and Lee Smith. Born on November 4, 1938, in Okechobee, Florida, Steve's journey through life was marked by joy, determination, and an unwavering love for family. He spent his final years in Walterboro, South Carolina, surrounded by those he loved most.

Steve's life was a testament to the power of a happy heart and a motivated spirit. Known for being headstrong yet incredibly loving, he brought warmth and positivity to everyone he met. His greatest joy was his family, which he shared with his beloved wife, Mary Gardner. Together, they built a life filled with unconditional love and 7 grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.

Graveside Memorial Services will be 3 PM Thursday, April 17, 2025 in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Jamie Norris.

Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the Sanders family during this time.
