Shirley Elizabeth Youmans

Ms. Shirley Elizabeth Youmans, 69, resident of Penial Road in Hendersonville, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025, at her residence.

Born February 6, 1956, in the Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Beaufort, Ms. Youmans was the daughter of the late James Bratton Youmans, Sr. and Evelyn Elizabeth Tucker Youmans. She was a homemaker who loved her family and enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, flowers, fishing, and riding motorcycles. Ms. Youmans will also be remembered by her family as a great cook and for her love of animals, especially her dogs.

She was a member of Yemassee Baptist Church.

Ms. Youmans is survived by her son, Lawrence Easy Bowers of Hendersonville, her daughter, Jessica Bright Bishop (David Rivera) of Ruffin; her two sisters, Yvonne Hughes of Walterboro and Doris Ann Murdaugh (Hemmie) of Early Branch, and her brother, James B. Youmans, Jr. (Annette) of Yemassee. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Youmans is predeceased by her former husband, Lawrence Bowers.

Funeral Services will be 2:30 PM, Thursday, March 13, 2025, in the Yemassee Baptist Church located at 127 Salkehatchie Rd., Yemassee, SC 29945, conducted by Rev. Heyward Evans. Burial will follow in the Zahler Cemetery.

A visitation will begin Thursday at 1 PM and last until the hour of the service in the church sanctuary.

The family requests that those who wish may send memorials to the funeral home.
