Sherilyn Byrne Rigdon

Mrs. Sherilyn Byrne Rigdon, 77, of Markus Street in the Country Acres Community of Hampton County, died early Thursday morning, June 13, 2024, at her residence.

Born June 27, 1946, in Waycross, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Eugene Byrne and Billie Bowers Byrne. She was the former co-owner of Rigdon's Fried Chicken in Hampton where she and her husband served delicious fried chicken to the residents of Hampton County and surrounding areas. Mrs. Rigdon was a caring and compassionate person who dedicated her life to her family and will be remembered for the steadfast love she had for them.

She was a member of Varnville First Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Henry Amon Rigdon, Sr., of the home; her son: Henry Amon Rigdon, Jr. of Hardeeville; her daughter: Aimee O'Quinn and her husband Brandon of Hampton; her beloved grandchildren: Tabatha Dunne, Kaden Simmons, Alexis Simmons, Cassie Smith, and Kendall Simmons; four brothers, and four sisters.

Funeral Services will be 2 PM, Monday, June 17, 2024, at Greenlawn Cemetery located at 5000 Brunswick Hwy., Waycross, Georgia 31503, with Dr  Bill Young officiating.

A visitation will be held Sunday, June 16, 2024, from 5 PM – 7 PM at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, Hampton Chapel, located at 300 Mulberry St. W., Hampton, SC 29924.

Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the Rigdon family during this time.
