Sheila Mikell

Mrs. Sheila Lintern Mikell, 85, of Estill, passed away early Saturday morning, February 13, 2021, at The Pearl of Port Royal Home on Lady's Island after an extended illness.

Mrs. Mikell was born July 13, 1935 in Wellington, England, a daughter of the late Redvers Lintern and Elsie Lintern.  She graduated from St. Peter's Church of England School in Harrogate and later met and married her late husband that was serving in the Army while stationed there.  After their marriage, they moved to the town of Estill to make their home here in the United States.  Mrs. Mikell  taught kindergarten and then worked for many years with Kinard Jewelers in Hampton.  She had attended Nixville and Lawtonville Baptist Churches but was a member of the Church of England.

Surviving is her son:  Paul Mikell and wife Selena of Nixville; daughter:  Kathryn Mills and husband Rodney of Estill; step-daughter:  Patty Miller and husband Jamie of Lancaster; grandchildren:  Christopher, Stephen, Brandon and Matthew; step-granddaughter Marissa; one great-grandchild and three step-great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Mikell was predeceased by her first husband W.L. "Buddy" Mikell and her second husband John O. Jarrell; her brother Kenneth Lintern; and a great-grandson Jackson Lawton Mikell.

Graveside services will be 11 AM Tuesday in the Lawtonville Cemetery in Estill, conducted by Rev. Brian Toney and Rev. Asbury Lawton and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.
