Mrs. Sarah Eleanor Terry Bowers of Brunson, 89, of Brunson, died Friday morning, September 25, 2020 in the Pruitt Health Care Facility in Estill.

Mrs. Bowers was born July 3, 1931 in Hampton County, a daughter of the late Ulis Cleborn Terry and Josie Maud Bowers Terry.  She had retired from Westinghouse Corporation in Hampton after 41 years of service in the molding department as a press operator.  Mrs. Bowers was a member of Brunson Baptist Church where she was active in the W.M.U. and the quilting group.  She was also a member of Evergreen Garden Club, Brunson Book and Music Club and was a board member and volunteer with the Town of Brunson Museum.  She enjoyed working in her yard with flowers and needlepoint and was very active in community and county activities.

Surviving are two grandchildren:  Bradley Cleborn Broxton of Beaufort and James Gregory Broxton of New York; step-son:  William Knight "Bill" Bowers of Brunson; sisters:  Betty Wall of Allendale, Evelyn "Clem" Sullivan and husband Harry of Fairfax, Daisy Ann Croft and husband Wade of Brunson and Linda T. Roberts and husband Rodger of Brunson.  Mrs. Bowers was predeceased by her parents; husband William L. "Billy" Bowers; sons:  Francis Burrell Broxton and James Cleborn "Cleby" Broxton; sisters:  Josephine Simmons and Iva Lee Gooding; brothers:  Buddy Terry and Joe Terry, Sr.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home conducted by Rev. R.P. Hodge with burial in the Bowers Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday morning prior to services beginning at 10 AM.
