Ms. Sara Holstein Varn, 74, resident of Sedonia Court in Davenport, Florida, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025, at her residence.
Born July 31, 1951, in Hampton, South Carolina, Ms. Varn was the daughter of the late William Holstein and Eleanor Margaret DeLoach Holstein. Raised in Hampton, she graduated from Wade Hampton High School and went on to work as a real estate agent and broker throughout her life. Ms. Varn was a avid lover and fan of Disney and loved going to Walt Disney World in Florida every chance she could. She deeply loved her family but most importantly loved her Lord.
Ms. Varn was a member of Spoken Word Outreach Ministries in Lobeco, SC, where she was active in many church activities over the years.
Surviving is her son, Sean Murdaugh (Tina) of Hampton; her sister, Louise Tarnecky of Charleston, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Varn is predeceased by one son, Bryan Murdaugh, and her grandson, Justin Murdaugh.
Graveside Services will be 3 PM Saturday, November 15, 2025, in the St. Paul Cemetery in Hampton.
Visitation will be from 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry St. W., Hampton, SC 29924, prior to services at the cemetery at 3pm.
Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the Varn family during this time.
