Mrs. Sandra Lynn Cooke DeHay, 66, of Fifth Street East in Hampton, died Thursday, June 13th at her residence after an extended illness.

Mrs. DeHay was born July 14, 1952 in Hampton County, a daughter of the late Clarence and Minnie Moody Cooke.  She was a secretary for several local businesses in the Hampton area and was a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband: Ray DeHay of Hampton; daughter: Fallon Evans and husband Josh of Hampton; son: Daniel DeHay and special friend, Mary Prezzi of Clermont, Florida; brothers: Larry Cooke and wife Ann of Varnville, Layman Cooke and wife Fran of Barnwell and Carlisle Cooke and wife Gloria of Orangeburg; sisters: Faye Wooten and husband Allen of Hardeeville and Bonnie Gray of Beaufort; sister-in-law: Judy Cooke of Columbia; and grandchildren: Joshua, Brady and Hunter Evans, and Mia and Maci DeHay.  Mrs. DeHay was predeceased by brothers: Rhett and Norris Cooke; sister: Peggy Gooding; and brothers-in-law: Randolph Gooding and Gene Gray.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday in Sandy Run Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Kevin Mims with burial in the Gooding Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 PM at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
