Sandra Jones Crosby Chesser

Mrs. Sandra E. Jones Crosby Chesser, 84, resident of CoOp Road West near Hampton, SC, passed away late Saturday evening, March 28, 2026, at her residence.

Born August 13, 1941, in North Charleston, SC, Mrs. Chesser was the daughter of the late James Carlton Jones and the late Virginia Daisy Locklair Jones. She worked many years as a nanny, caring for many children for over 25 years. Mrs. Chesser enjoyed reading, attending church activities, and watching episodes of Gunsmoke, Wheel of Fortune, and the Price is Right on her television.

She was a longtime member of Hopewell Baptist Church where she was active in many church activities over the years such as the SOS ladies group and serving as the church choir director. Recently, she also enjoyed attending Lighthouse Church, worshipping her Lord and Savior.

Surviving is her son, James Rodney Crosby of Hampton; her daughters: Lisa Cope (Jimmy) of Brunson and Sandy Faulk (Randy) of Warner Robbins, GA; her grandchildren: Sean Faulk (Stephanie) of Sharpsburg, GA, Ryan Cope (Jessica) of Brunson, and Amanda Cope (William) of Appleton; her great-grandchildren: Tucker, Brayden, and Elijiah; her sister, Susanne Harrington (Joe) of Morganton, NC, as well as a special friend, Nancy Stanley of Hampton. There are also many nieces and nephews who survive.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Chesser was predeceased by her two husbands, Rogers M. Crosby and George E. Chesser, as well as a granddaughter, Kimberlyn Faulk.

Graveside Services will be 11 AM Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in the Gillisonville Baptist Church Cemetery in Gillsonville, SC, conducted by Pastor Brian Trent.

Visitation will be from 5 PM – 7 PM Tuesday evening, March 31, 2026, at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, Hampton Chapel, located at 300 Mulberry St. W., Hampton, SC 29924.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Cope, Ryan Cope, Randy Faulk, Sean Faulk, Wade Hadwin, and Frank Pulaski.

The family requests that those who wish send memorials to the Gillisonville Baptist Church Cemtery.

Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the family during this time.
