Mrs. Ruth Virginia Mock Johnson, 84, resident of the Reserve Health and Rehab in Hanahan, died Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the Lowcountry Hospice Center in Summerville, SC, after an extended illness.
Born October 10, 1939, in Estill, South Carolina, Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late Thomas Mock and Minnie Pearl Nix Mock. She worked many years as a Barber, formerly working at the Charleston Air Force Base for over twenty years where she notably cut hair for the military. Mrs. Johnson was a strong willed person who will be remembered by her family for her incredible personality and deep love for life.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in North Charleston.
Surviving are her son, Blaze H. Johnson of Goose Creek and his family; her daughter, Donna Faulkenberry of Goose Creek and her family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank Johnson, her sister Helen Barnes and her brother, George Thomas Mock.
Graveside Services will be held 1 PM, Friday, September 6, 2024, in the Sandy Drain Cemetery near Estill.
Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the Johnson family during this time.
