Rudine Youmans Fitts

Mrs. Rudine Youmans Fitts of Salkehatchie Road in Yemassee, died early Friday morning at the residence of her son in Hendersonville.

Mrs. Fitts was born in Yemassee, April 20, 1923, a daughter of the late J. B. Youmans and Ola Zahler Youmans.  She was a lifelong resident of Yemassee and had been active in the community.  Mrs. Fitts was a homemaker, a member of the Ridgeville Baptist Church and was the widow of Captain Jack Fitts.

Surviving are:  son:  Jimmy Fitts and wife Kim of Hendersonville;  Grandchildren:  Brent Fitts, Brandon Fitts and wife Christin, Kevin Stewart, Scott McCarthy, and Tracy Stutler;  two great-grandchildren:  Charlie and Sally Fitts;  and a daughter-in-law:  Kay Lawton of Tutens Landing.  Mrs. Fitts was predeceased by her husband and a son, Charles Anthony "Tony" Fitts.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Zahler Cemetery near Yemassee conducted by Rev. Kirby Bunton and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton.

Visitation will be immediately following the services at the cemetery Tuesday morning.
