Rose Ollie Freeman Getridge

Mrs. Rose Ollie Freeman Getridge of Pond Town Road near Brunson, died Friday morning at her residence after an extended illness.

Mrs. Getridge was born Feb. 5, 1945 in Hampton County, a daughter of the late J. G. and Ernestine Donehue Freeman. She was a Homemaker, avid gardener, bird watcher, and loved taking care of her family and many friends. Mrs. Getridge was a member of the Brunson Baptist Church, where she was active with the Children's Choir, the WMU, and was a Choir Member.

Surviving are: Son: J. Arthur Getridge (LeAnne) of Pond Town; Daughters: Wanda Walker (Ed) of Cummings, Juanita Rose Getridge (Jay Lee) of Pond Town, and Cindy Gosnell of Hampton; Sisters: Linda Sullivan of Brunson, and Geneva Kinard of Pond Town; and a Sister in Law, Shirley Freeman of Pond Town; Grandchildren: Darren Schroyer (Jessica), Catlin Schroyer, Jason Schroyer, Stanlee Walker, Cody Getridge, Austin Getridge, Tracy Getridge (Carson), Kayla Gosnell, and Charlotte Gosnell; Two Great Granddaughters: Scarlett and Sydney Schroyer; And extended family in Maryland along with many nieces and nephews in the local community.

Mrs. Getridge was predeceased by her husband: Garnet Sidney "Buck" Getridge; Two Brothers: Oliver and Miles Freeman; and a Sister: Elouise Freeman.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 P.M. Monday at the Brunson Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. R. P. Hodge, with burial in the Rivers Cemetery in Pond Town.

Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 5 to 7 P.M. at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
