Mrs. Rosa Bell Sineath Wooten of Varnville, widow of Joseph Franklin Wooten, passed Christmas evening, six days short of her 91st birthday, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital following a short illness. Mrs. Wooten was born December 31, 1932 in Hampton County, a daughter of the late Marion Rhett Sineath and Edna Leola Peeples. She was a homemaker, a church and community volunteer, a loving mentor and Nana to her 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, and an avid gardener. She was a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are: daughter Linda Kelly and husband Gerald of Varnville , two sons: Joseph Marion Wooten and wife Eleanor of Orangeburg, Donald Hugh Wooten and wife Deborah of Varnville; grandchildren: Sonya Dempsey of Yemassee, Tonya Hayden and husband Aaron of Lilburn, GA., Amanda Jones and husband Matthew of Pelion, Melanie Wooten Waggener and husband Matt of Crocketville, and Johnathan Wooten of Crocketville, and 10 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Wooten was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, her sisters: Gladys Sineath, Rosa Lee Sineath Wilson, Margie Condemetti, brothers: John Sineath and Woodrow Sineath.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Peeples Rhoden Funeral Home, located at 300 Mulberry West, Hampton, followed by 11 a.m. services at the chapel and burial at Sand Hill Baptist Cemetery. Dr. Tommy Kelly will officiate.
