Ronald Braxton

Mr. Ronald Benjamin Braxton, 78, of Freeman Street in Hampton, died Thursday evening, August 19, 2021, in Providence Hospital in Columbia.

Mr. Braxton was born April 16, 1943 in Neptune, New Jersey, a son of the late Jack and Maybell Lawson Braxton.  He had retired from Westinghouse in Hampton and was a member of West End Baptist Church.  He loved all sports, especially the Carolina Gamecocks and the Wade Hampton Red Devils.  Mr. Braxton was known in the community as "Coach".

Surviving is his brother, Frank Braxton of Varnville; sisters, Gloria B. McDaniel and husband Jack of Allendale and Patricia B. Godley and husband Syril of Hampton; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Charlene and Donnie Moseley and Adeline and Tony Gross.

Graveside services will be 11 AM Tuesday at Johnson-St. Paul Cemetery conducted by Rev. Rhyan Ashcraft.

Visitation will be Tuesday morning prior to the service beginning at 9:30 AM at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
