Robert "Bob" Terry Padgett, Sr.

It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Robert "Bob" Padgett, Sr. announces his sudden passing.  He passed away peacefully at the Hampton Regional Hospital on September 24, 2018 at the age of 65 years.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are:  his son:  Robert Padgett, Jr. and wife Cathy of Hampton;  brother:  John Padgett, Jr. and wife Elsie of Columbia;  sister:  Jean Howell and husband Wayne of Elgin;  sisters-in law:  Jeanie Carroll and husband Eric, and Linda Ashley, all of Hampton;  brother-in-law:  Jim Ashley and wife Allison of Wilmington, NC; and a special granddaughter:  Rebecca Smith of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.  There are many nieces and nephews.

Bob is predeceased by:  his wife Patricia "Gail" Padgett;  his parents: John and Bernice Padgett; sister:  Patricia Pope and husband Tommy; and father and mother-in-law:  James and Elsie Ashley.

He was a 1972 graduate of Wade Hampton High School, was a Mason and had retired as an Inspector with Georgia Pacific after 30 years of service.  He had attended Hampton United Methodist Church but was a member of the Sandy Run Baptist Church.

The family suggests that those who wish may send memorials to the Sandy Run Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 252, Hampton, SC 29924.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 28th, at 11:00 AM at the Hampton United Methodist Church with burial in the Sandy Run Cemetery near Hampton directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 to 8 PM at the Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
