Robert Traxler Smith

Mr. Robert Traxler Smith, 51, resident of Papas Road in Varnville, passed away late Friday evening, May 9, 2025, in the Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Born September 13, 1973, Mr. Smith was the son of Karen Stanley Smith and the late Eddie David Smith, III. He was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School in Varnville and previously worked at Fairfax Dimension Company in Fairfax and Collums Lumber Products in Allendale. Mr. Smith enjoyed hunting with family and friends; summers at Land's End; riding the ranger with his brother and playing cards with his family. He deeply loved his family, sharing a special bond with each member of it.

Mr. Smith was a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his mother, Karen Stanley Smith, of Hampton, is his brother, Michael S. Smith of Hampton and his maternal grandmother, Hattie T. Stanley of Varnville. There are also many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and other relatives who he loved dearly.

He is predeceased by his father, David Smith, III; his maternal grandfather, Ray T. Stanley, and his paternal grandparents, Eddie David Smith, Jr. and Norma Lee Smith.

Funeral Services will be held 11:30 AM Friday, May 16, 2025, in the Sandy Run Baptist Church near Hampton conducted by Rev. Brian Hunter and Rev. Dr. Tommy Kelly. Burial will follow in the Sandy Run Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Will Brewer, Bailey Harvey, Austin Simmons, Ray Brian McCormick, Bubba Simmons, and TW Shipes.

The family requests that those who wish may send memorials in Mr. Smith's memory to the Sandy Run Cemetery, P.O. Box 252, Hampton, SC 29924.
