Robert J Mcguire

Brunson Dateline:  Robert J. McGuire, 80, of Brunson, SC passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was raised in Toms River, NJ on the homestead formerly known as the Bey Lea Farm Dairy which was established by his grandfather in 1919. He was the son of the late John A. and Olive G. McGuire.

He retired in 1994 as Service Manager of Brunson Cadillac in Hampton. He was passionate about NASCAR and was the 1967 Sportsman Champion at Wall Stadium in NJ. After relocating to SC he became interested in Go Karts and raced them all over the Southeast.

He is survived by his wife: Alayne Bragger McGuire; two sons: Robert McGuire, Jr. of Barnegat, NJ and Jason R McGuire of Brunson; two daughters: Meribeth Oberholtzer and husband Dean of Waretown, NJ and Lisa H. Reeves of Varnville; step-daughter: Lauren Mulrooney and husband Shawn of Barnegat, NJ; two brothers: Benjamin McGuire and wife Marianne of Virginia and Richard W. McGuire and wife Debbie and Sister in Law Sandra McGuire of NJ; three grandchildren: Morgan Reeves, Ryan Shinaberry, and Preston McGuire; He was predeceased by a brother: Oliver J. McGuire; and grandson: Jason D. McGuire.
