Ricky Simmons

Mr. Ricky Simmons, 55, of Glenn Street in Varnville, died Tuesday morning in Trident Hospital in Charleston.

Mr. Simmons was born March 27, 1963 in Hampton County, a son of Cecil E. Simmons and Mildred Sanford Simmons.  He was employed at Georgia Pacific in Rincon, Georgia and enjoyed working with cars, especially Mopar.  He was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

Surviving are:  his wife:  Arlene Smith Simmons of Varnville; mother:  Mildred Sanford Simmons of Varnville;  son:  Will Hutto and wife Kim of Islandton;  daughters:  Shannon Altman and husband Jamie of Hampton, Nancy DeLoach and husband David of Varnville and Caitlin Simmons of Varnville;  sister:  Sherry Crosby and husband Steve of Varnville; 6 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a grand lizard, "Hugh".  Mr. Simmons was predeceased by:  his father, Cecil E. Simmons and a brother, Cecil E. Simmons, Jr.

Memorial services will be 4 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton. Visitation will begin at 3 PM prior to services at the Chapel.
