Rick Nix

Mr. John Richard "Rick" Nix, 45, resident of Lento Road near Varnville, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at his residence.

Born August 3, 1979, in Hampton, Rick was the son of Richard Hilton Nix and Lillie Rose Plummer Cook. He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, Clemson Tigers, and Green Bay Packers; loved to fish, and loved to eat a Burger King Whopper every chance he could. Most of all, Rick deeply loved his family, adoring his daughter, nieces and nephews.

He formerly attended Nixville Church of God of Prophecy.

Surviving is his father, Richard Nix of Varnville; his mother and step-father, Rose and Marvin Cook of Fairfax; his daughter, Alexis Nix of Varnville; his maternal grandmother, Virgie Plummer of Varnville; his sisters: Amy Felix (Russell) of Fairfax, Ashley Nix of Varnville, and Erica Long (Quentin) of Varnville, and a brother, Brandon Fraiser of Walterboro. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Rick was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, who he was very close with, Sherby Jean Nix.

Funeral Services will be held 10 AM Saturday, June 7, 2025, in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Nixville Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Michael Fredrickson and Mrs. Nancy Gill.

A visitation will be from 5 PM – 7 PM Friday, June 6, 2025 at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry St. W., Hampton, SC 29924.

Pallbearers will be Austin Lawson, Ryan Lawson, Matthew Wilson, Sam Felix, Skyler Long, and Will Parks.

Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the Nix family during this time.
