Regie Hadwin

Mr. Ryan Reginald Hadwin of Ellis Street in Hampton, South Carolina, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Hadwin, 85, of Hampton, was born September 16, 1935, in Furman, South Carolina. Known by his family and friends as "Regie" and to the grandchildren he loved so much as "DeeDah", he was the son of the late Eddie Nathan Hadwin and Glondel Buckner Hadwin. He had served in the National Guard and was a farmer in the Hampton County community. He was a longstanding member of the Hampton County Farm Bureau.

Regie was a graduate of Estill High School and attended the University of South Carolina and Georgia Tech. He enjoyed his family, helping others, and being outdoors. He was a lifelong member of Furman Baptist Church.  Mr. Hadwin was predeceased by his parents and his wife of 35 years Thelma Dobson Hadwin.

Regie is survived by his daughters Stasha Hadwin Lightsey and husband Jeff of Hartwell, GA; April Hadwin-Shaffer and husband Chris of Furman; Granddaughters Ryan Shaffer, Amber Lightsey, Peyton McCord, and Sydni Shaffer; great-grandchildren Bella, Chance, Noah, Xera, and Elijah; and his sister Edyce Gooding of Aiken, SC.

Funeral services will take place graveside at Stafford Baptist Church Cemetery in Furman, South Carolina, Friday, February 19, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Services will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Tommy Kelly and Elder Robert Dobson and directed by Peeples-Rhoden funeral home. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 p.m., in the church sanctuary prior to the service.
