Mr. Harvey Randolph "Randy" Peeples, Jr., 65, of Abe Trail near Varnville, died early Saturday morning, March 14, 2020, at his residence after an extended illness.
Mr. Peeples was born November 8, 1954 in Hampton County, a son of the late Harvey Randolph Peeples, Sr. and Hazel Tuten Peeples. He had retired from Westinghouse Plant as a treater operator after 40 years of service and later worked for the Congaree Golf Partners as a security guard. Mr. Peeples had been a member of the Furman Masonic Lodge for 35 ½ years, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Nixville Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife: Jayne Jarrell Peeples of Varnville; sons: Jason Abe Peeples and wife Amanda of Bluffton and Tom Peeples and wife Stefanie of Varnville; daughter: Vicki Terry and husband Chris of Varnville; sister: Shirley P. Shannon and husband Steve of Gulf Shores, Alabama; brother-in-law: Arthur Youmans of Varnville; step-brother-in law: John Brunson and wife Becky of Brunson; step-mother-in-law: Peggy J. Jarrell of Brunson; grandchildren: Tyler, Emma and Hunter Peeples, Braydon Franklin, Carsyn and Hudson Peeples, Christopher, Peyton and Harper Terry. Mr. Peeples was predeceased by a sister: Christine Youmans; step-sister-in-law: Carol Ann Lindak; and father-in-law: Jimmie O. Jarrell.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3 PM in the Nixville Baptist Church with burial in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 PM at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.
