Ramon A. Diaz

It is with a broken heart that we share the passing of Ramon Diaz, who left us on April 9th, 2026, at the age of 38. What makes this loss even harder to comprehend is that it came as such a terrible and unexpected surprise to all of us. He was born on May 22, 1987, in Lawton, Oklahoma.

He fought his illness with incredible courage and strength, never giving up, never losing who he was at his core. He leaves behind his beautiful 7-year-old son, Paxton, who will grow up knowing just how deeply his dad loved him, and his wife, Katie, who has shown a level of strength and fierceness that words can hardly capture.

Ramon came from a big family and was deeply loved. He is survived by his parents —Stacia Barnhart, Barry and Sarah Frace, and Carrie Josephson — and his seven siblings —Brett, Tina (Brandon), Cat (Shae), Midori (Travis), Dylan, Kylee, and Brianna. Many nieces and nephews: Braylon, Mason, Jace, Levi, Lilly Kate, Alexander, Archer, JT, Otto, and Abby —along with many extended family members and loved ones who meant so much to him. He was cherished by his Grammy Frace and Grandma Diaz.

Ramon was predeceased by his dad, Ramon Diaz, his stepdad, Jaysen Barnhart, and grandparents Tomas Diaz, Patricia and Luis Rodriguez, and Bruce Frace.

Throughout his life, Ramon was known for making people laugh through his constant ability to make a joke or be the butt of one. He loved cooking and experimenting with recipes. He enjoyed going to the movies and collecting popcorn tubs with Paxton. He loved to play his video games and was an animal whisperer.

Funeral Services will be 2 PM, Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Sand Hill Baptist Church, conducted by DeKelly Pittinger.

Visitation will begin at 1 PM on Tuesday, prior to the service.

Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the family during this time.
