Priscilla Sharpe Schaffer

Mrs. Priscilla Mary Sharpe Schaffer, 79, wife of Dennis Schaffer, resident of Pine Street East in Varnville, SC, died Tuesday morning, May 26, 2026, at her residence just one day after celebrating her 58th wedding anniversary.

Born January 3, 1947, in Swindon, Wiltshire, England; she was the daughter of the late Evelyn Grace Sharpe. Mrs. Schaffer obtained her education in England and was raised in a wonderful home with her mother, aunt, grandmother, and brother. She worked several years as T.O. Plastics in Varnville in the office but was most importantly a homemaker who will be remembered by her family as a "clean freak". Mrs. Schaffer deeply loved her family and enjoyed being "Nanny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Varnville First Baptist Church.

Surviving is her husband of 58 years, Dennis Wilson Schaffer, of the home; her daughter, Rebecca Anne Spires (Matt) of Aiken, SC, her beloved grandchildren: Joshua Moore, Julia Moore, James Connelly, III (Halee), Grace Schoo (Greg), and Andrew Spires; her adored great-grandchildren: Levi Varnadoe, Wylee Connelly, Annee Roe Connelly, and G.T. Schoo, and her son-in-law, Michael Moore of Yemassee, SC.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Schaffer was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Louise Moore; one granddaughter, Jessica Moore; and her dear brother, Robert Sharpe.

Private Services and Burial will be held in the Varnville Cemetery.
