Mrs. Phyllis Tuten Crouch, 74, of Shadblow Lane in West Columbia, SC, formerly of Hampton, SC, died Tuesday afternoon, March, 9, 2021 at her residence after a battle with cancer.
Mrs. Crouch was born October 15, 1946 in Greenville, SC, a daughter of the late William Marvin Tuten and Ola Belle Meeks Tuten. She was a retired school teacher from Northside Middle School and was a graduate of the University of South Carolina. Mrs. Crouch had been a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church where she had served as the church pianist while growing up in the Hampton area. She loved and followed all Carolina Gamecocks sports.
Surviving is her husband Henry L. Crouch of West Columbia, SC; daughters Stacey Crouch Gambrell and husband Tommy of Atlanta, GA and Jody Crouch of West Columbia, SC; brothers William Michael Tuten and wife Ruth Ann of Crossville, Tennessee and Billy Tuten and wife Gina of Batesburg-Leesville, SC; her sister Debbie T Kassianos of Columbia, SC; and two grandchildren Elliott Gambrell and Adeline Gambrell.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday at Sandy Run Cemetery near Hampton directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton.
A Celebration of Life will be from 3 – 5 PM Sunday, March 21, 2021 in the Springdale House and Gardens, located at 3150 Platt Springs Road, West Columbia, SC 29170.
