Mr. Philip Mockey Terry, Sr., 72, of Lena, SC, passed away early Saturday morning, August 24, 2024, at Landmark Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.

Born May 28, 1952, in Hampton County, Mockey was the son of the late Philip Medicus Terry and Bridie Mae Anderson Terry Crapse. He loved fishing, cooking, a good salty Saturday on the boat, a Sunday afternoon round of golf, and his suppers with the Wednesday night Supper Club. Mockey was known for his infectious laugh as well as his hash and BBQ. He cooked for the Patrick Henry BBQ and the Lawtonville Cemetery BBQ for over 25 years. Mockey loved his community and if he ever cooked for you, know that's how he showed his love.

Surviving are his loving wife of 45 years, Patti Terry, of the home; two sons: Philip Mockey Terry, Jr. (Stephanie) of Kaplan, LA and Brandon R. Terry (Kayce) of Nixville, SC; one daughter: Karen A. Terry of Furman, SC, and his grandchildren: Gabbi, Philip, Ross, Thomas, Taylor, Ethan, and Marybrae. He is also survived by his beloved chocolate lab, Bella Lou.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Patsy T. Peeples.

Graveside Services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, August 27, 2024, in the Lawtonville Cemetery in Estill conducted by Rev. Brian Toney.

A visitation will be held from 5 PM – 7 PM, Monday evening, August 26, 2024, at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry St. W., Hampton, SC 29924.

The family asks that those who wish may send memorials to Patrick Henry Academy, 8766 Savannah Highway, Estill, SC 29918 or to the Lawtonville Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 200, Estill, SC 29918.

Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the Terry family during this time.
