Peter Donald Reid, Jr.

Mr. Peter Donald Reid, Jr., 74, of Walking Tall Road near Estill died Thursday, June 13th after an extended illness.

Mr. Reid was born November 17, 1944 in Jasper County, a son of the late Peter Donald Reid, Sr. and Edna Long Reid.  He had worked in construction and was an expert electrician and carpenter.  He was a member of the Nixville Church of God of Prophecy and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife:  Ivy Blanche Crapse Reid of Estill; son:  Peter Donald Reid, III and wife Susan of Estill; sisters: Patricia Brant of Ulmer, Brenda Thames and husband Ray of Fairfax and Sandra Gray of Barnwell; brothers:  Larry Reid and wife Dorothy of Barnwell, Kenny Reid and wife Leona of Barnwell, Johnny Reid and wife Patty of Barnwell and Franklin Reid and wife Tonia of Grenada, Mississippi.  There is one granddaughter, Cecilia Reid.

Graveside services will be 3 PM Sunday in the Hampton Cemetery directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton.

Visitation will be Sunday prior to services beginning at 2 PM at the Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be sent to Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, 300 Mulberry Street West, Hampton, SC 29924.
