Mrs. Patsy Louise DeWitt Lafontaine, 77, of Bob White Trail in Hampton, died early Saturday morning, July 24, 2021, in the Hampton Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Lafontaine was born March 22, 1944 in Hampton, a daughter of the late Charlie Eddie DeWitt and Corrie Sauls DeWitt.  She was a former rural mail carrier and was a member of Hampton First Baptist Church.  She enjoyed fishing, making flower arrangements, cake decorating, crabbing and being with her family.  She also enjoyed making trips to the casinos in Cherokee.

Surviving is her son, Timothy J. Lafontaine of Hampton; daughters, Paula L. McGuire of Hampton and Rhonda L. Wingate and husband Olin Jr. of Varnville; sisters, Joyce Horres of Varnville and Barbara Cook and husband Robert of Beaufort; brother, David DeWitt and wife Jan of North Charleston; grandchildren, Charley McGuire and fiance' Alexis, David Wingate and wife Tina, Nichole and Cory Crews, Christopher, Hayden, Patrick and Brooklynn Lafontaine; great-grandchildren, Matthew Wingate, Bradley and Dion Crews, Caitlin Wingate, Madison Stanley, Brayleigh Williams, Emmett Wingate and Cameron Crews; as well as several nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Lafontaine was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Ronald Paul Lafontaine; sisters, Anita Ellis and Gloria Priester; brothers, Sonny DeWitt and Wiley DeWitt; and grandchildren, Jason Dion McGuire and Lauren Hill Crews.

Funeral services will be 3:30 PM Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Hampton First Baptist Church with burial following in the Johnson-St. Paul Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Emerson Wiles and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at her residence, located at 84 Bob White Trail in Hampton.
