Patricia L. Mowery

Patricia L. Mowery, 77, of Lazy D Drive in Varnville died Sunday, December 1, 2019 at her residence.

Pat was born November 3, 1942 in Logan, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Garland Geer and Belva Hale Geer.  Her family moved to Dayton, Ohio shortly thereafter.  She attended Colonel White High School, Miami Jacobs, Sinclair College and Wright State University.  On May 27, 1977 she married James R. Mowery.  Pat was employed in Dayton at a printing firm, Ryerson Steel and Ohio Kentucky Steel in administration and as an Executive Secretary.  In 1986 Pat and her close friend, Karen Roach started, owned and operated their own business, ASAP Office Services, Inc.  Having sold her business in 1992 Pat moved to Hilton Head, SC where she worked at Financial Federal.  She served as IT Manager and Associate Vice President to CEO Jerry Caldwell and President Terry Rowlfing at Lighthouse Bank which was later acquired by Suntrust, where she retired from the IT Department.

Pat was avid at sewing, embroidery and quilting.  She was a passionate volunteer with animal shelters and taking shelter animals to nursing homes for pet therapy.  Pat lived her life with love, kindness and compassion toward all people and all things.  She will be forever loved and missed by the lives she has touched.

Pat is survived by her husband James Mowery; her sister:  Belva Northcutt; nephews: Todd Funderburg and his wife Jo and their daughters, Sabra and Lexa, and Justin Dilbeck and wife Katrina and their children, Ashley, Gabe and Tyler; niece:  Michelle Dilbeck-Zataran and husband Marco;  her sister-in-law, families of Norma and Butch Derr, Pat and Bob Jewell and Donna and the late Eddie Cupp; her best friend and maid of honor:  Regina Moorman; and many other family members, close friends and associates.

Graveside services will be 12 noon, Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Grimes Cemetery conducted by Rev. Dr. Tommy Kelly and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9 to 11 at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home 300 Mulberry Street West in Hampton, SC prior to services at the Cemetery.

The family suggests that those who wish may send memorials to the animal shelter of their choice.
