Odis Reaves Rhoden

Mr. Odis Reaves Rhoden, 70, resident of Pontiac Lane near Varnville, died early Saturday morning, February 1, 2025, on Walterboro Highway near Varnville.

Born May 03, 1954, in Hampton County, Mr. Rhoden was the son of the late Odis Reaves Rhoden and Lillie Evelyn Clifton Rhoden Simmons. He formerly worked in construction and enjoyed fishing. Mr. Rhoden will be remembered for loving to "have a good time" and enjoy life.

Surviving are his son, Odis R. Rhoden, Jr. of Grays; two grandsons, Michael Simmons (Morgan) of Hampton and Christopher Simmons of Grays; one granddaughter, Rebecca Simmons Blocker of Nixville; two brothers, Tommy Rhoden (Ellen) of Varnville and Curtis Simmons (Kim) of Estill; two sisters, Peggy Simmons of Grays and Debra Wooten (Donald) of Varnville, as well as four great-grandchildren. There are also many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who survive.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Rhoden is predeceased by his daughter, Joanne Rhoden Simmons.

Graveside Services will be held 11 AM Monday, February 3, 2025, in the Sandy Run Cemetery near Hampton, conducted by Rev. David Schaffer.

Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home is assisting the Rhoden family during this time.
