Nell Mills

Mrs. Nell Virginia Murdaugh Mills, 93, of Kerrison Street in Varnville, died Sunday afternoon, September 5, 2021 at her son's residence in Estill.

Mrs. Mills was born June 6, 1928 in Hampton County, a daughter of the late Caleb Calvin Murdaugh and Bertha Lee Bennett Murdaugh.  She was known in the community for her wonderful talent as a seamstress, working out of her home and always willing to work her magic.  She also loved to work with flowers and always had beautiful flowers in her yard.  She was a member of Varnville Baptist Church.

Surviving are her sons, Lee M. "Skeet" Mills and wife Rhonda of Brunson and Rodney Mills and wife Kathryn of Estill; grandchildren, Dawn, Michael, Nicole, Brandon, Matthew, Angie, Corey and Anthony; and great-grandchildren; Greyson, Payton, Caden, Andrew, David, Anthony, Kendra, Krystal and Kayla.  Besides her parents, Mrs. Mills was predeceased by her husband, Lee Murray Mills, Sr. and a son, Carroll Tracy Mills.

Graveside services will be 11 AM Thursday, September 9, 2021 in the Varnville Cemetery directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.

Visitation will be immediately following the service at the cemetery.
